Amelia and her mother run a high-end dry cleaners, specialising in wedding dresses. Recently engaged, Amelia disagrees with her mother over the forthcoming wedding - Amelia wants something casual, her mother wants a formal affair. But both of them are taught a lesson when they meet the recently married Heather. This clip is at the end of Act 1, where Amelia’s mother lays out her firm beliefs about weddings – and marriage itself. As she recounts the purpose of the wedding dry cleaners – to ensure everything, even memories, are pristine – we see into her thoughts, and sense the inevitable collision with her daughter’s plan for a casual wedding.
